MONDAY MONDAY

Good Morning and Happy Monday. I am on my second cup of coffee, my Siamese cats have been wild since 4 am and I am so sleepy. I had my large class of water and lite breakfast, and I will be good to start my day in about an hour. I am so jealous my husband is working from home today, hoping I have a short day.

Tomorrow is weigh in and I am close to 20 pounds. I have pushed my 20 pound charity to 30 pounds because it is going to take more planning, now I have to decide how I will mark the 20 pound goal. I do my charities a few pounds after I hit the weight milestone. so it will probably be around 25 pounds. I am currently brainstorming for an idea.

I have started running, and I am excited about it. Mike had me running months ago, but then I had some type of ankle injury so we stopped all running. We started running again, and I am also doing some running on my own. I am determined to meet this challenge and excel and improve at my running. It will take some time to get better at this new challenge. Eventually I have to take the time to visit a running store to be fitted with proper shoes. My best friend Melissa Bender at Melissa Bender Fitness just ran in her first half marathon with her husband Jesse. Jesse placed first in his age of 25-29. My congratulations to both of them. I am inspired.

On another note, I am so happy my face is back to normal. My jaw stands out, and my face is no longer chubby. I feel like I look like myself again. It is such a good feeling to see the results of the hard work. I will be doing some updated proper photos to post soon, but here is a face photo of me this past weekend.

REVISITING MY FITNESS BUCKET LIST

Good Morning and Happy Friday. I have been contemplating all of my accomplishments, the small ones and the larger ones. The weight and the first charity of course are the more significant accomplishments but I am also celebrating staying the course and not giving in to ever giving up. I am going to see this project through until I am where I wish to be and have helped many charities. Helping The Monday Night Mission was amazing, and I plan on going back and volunteering at least once a month. I am now choosing a twenty pound charity and I will write about that soon. Project Cuddle is now my thirty pound charity. I am currently at a 17 pound weight loss since July.

Another goal is to make my Fitness Bucket list happen. I wrote about it in the beginning last July but since then there are a few more goals to be added to the list, so I thought I would re post it with the new items I need to cross off. I have my work cut out for me, but I am inspired by the man with MS who recently did a marathon in 16 hours. If he can do it, anyone of us can. I also am so proud of my best friend Melissa Bender at Melissa Bender Fitness, she is running in her first marathon this weekend. I would love to know what is on your fitness bucket list. Keep dreaming and making it happen.

I wish you a wonderful Friday. Namaste’ Love and Light

MONDAY GRATITUDE

Happy Monday to all.  I am on my first cup of coffee and smiling already, coffee and the fact that I wake up each and every morning is enough to make me smile. I am alive and able to drink this hot creamy cup of perfection, so I greet Monday morning with a big thank you.  I prefer to savor the little things in life as well as the grand.  I have chosen to make my life a happy adventure, full of creative endeavors. Yes, it is Monday morning but I am up early and ready to embrace my day with an open mind and heart. I am creating the life that I wish to have.

Tomorrow is my weigh in and my weekly workout with Mike. We are going to videotape me performing burpees either this week or the next. Melissa at Melissa Bender Fitness is going to post the video, with future videos of me improving on the move. We all know I need to improve on the move, since I feel so awkward doing them. She is such an amazing motivator. I am so grateful for her help and for Mike’s help. Mike really is a one of a kind trainer and I am so lucky to have his help.  I feel incredibly blessed to have such positive people in my corner. I could not go it alone, no one can.

I have been working hard on my My Change For A Ten project and I am just around the corner from volunteering with my first charity The Monday Night Mission. My plan is as soon as I reach my first ten pound loss, I will give my place of employment heads up two weeks in advance so they can order the food that they are donating to the Monday Night Mission on my behalf. Then we are going to join the lovely people at the Monday Night Mission to help feed the residents at skid row. So the actual date of my first charity volunteer work with be a few weeks after I reach my first ten pound goal. Mike is going with me, and any other friends are welcome as well, I think Francie may join us. The more to help the merrier. Compassion for others is contagious.

I wish you a sunshiny day full of everything your heart desires. Yes, that may be a tall order for a Monday morning but greatness has to begin somewhere. Just order yourself a tall latte’ to inspire caffeinated creativity, after all a little coffee always helps.  Think it, believe it, and make it happen.

GOOD MORNING SUNSHINE AND GRATITUDE

Good Morning Sunshine. Well, it is a little overcast with the marine layer, but I have to admit I do not mind it. The sun always shines here, it just sometimes takes a little more time to come out. Everyone needs to oversleep every now and then, especially if you expend energy like the powerful sun above. Energy, we are all energy based and I believe positive energy is contagious. We humans, not unlike the sun can harness this electric energy to make something great happen in our lives as well as the lives of others. We are all connected, the sun, moon, stars, and each and every living creature in the vast universe. I am very grateful for the support I have in my quest and in my life, that gratitude never escapes me.

I am very proud to say I lost one pound this week, bringing my total so far to the five pound mark. My weight now is 192 lbs. I can really tell a difference in my clothes and in my face. My face is the first place weight loss shows. I also have been getting some very encouraging comments around my neighborhood. The lovely staff at the pet store asked what I am doing that is different. Apparently everything I am working on is working. No magic pill or juice fast, or crash diet like I have succumbed to in the past.  I am eating clean and healthy and working out.  I also have to remind myself even though for the sake of this project I am down five pounds, but at the start of 2013 I weighed 207 lbs. So I kept off that first initial ten pound loss and now I am down five for My Change For A Ten.

Today I work, and tonight I work out with my friend and trainer Mike. He has been extremely helpful and supportive and I am so thankful for that, as well as the extra push to do more. He is an excellent trainer and lovely friend to have in my corner, and  he is also completely down to earth. I could never work out with those types who are not down to earth, and you know they are out there. I will master the burpees, someday in the near future.  As soon as Mike has his  fitness blog up and running I will share more about him.

My ankle feels great.  I still need to get an ankle brace like Richard Simmons suggested. I have a feeling if I show up to class on Thursday without one he may give me hell. My husband James was saying how cool it is that I know Richard Simmons, since I grew up with him and my sister and I did his Sweating To The Oldies DVD’s that my Mother owned. To also be in his video was truly an honor since I think he does so much good to help obese people. It is an honor just to know him and I am so thankful for the opportunity to take his classes weekly.

Fitness gurus, it seems my list of  inspirational friends in fitness is growing. My wonderful friends Nadia and Tracy just opened up a studio in San Diego and I will share links in the near future. They offer yoga and fitness, with aerial yoga.

My best friend of course is at the top of the list. She has been such a best friend, inspiration and support system for over ten years. Across the miles she is always right beside me cheering me on, as I have always been for her. Check out her amazing fitness videos and blog. She is the exact reason I am a poet and that I write. I am eternally grateful for her and even though we are far in miles, we are so connected in the heart.

A little Tuesday sunshine and  gratitude to begin my day. I am a very gushy girl and I have never believed in holding back with friends and family. I am that person that will tell you thank you or I love you a thousand times. My sisters find it annoying but too bad, I would rather share how I feel and be an open book than have regrets as the sun sets nightly.  Coulda, shoulda, woulda, is not in my vernacular.

Happy Tuesday, woo hoo I love five pounds.

FITNESS BUCKET LIST

Good evening to all on this beautiful Thursday. This post is late because I made an error and saved it in a draft. I will have a fresh post about my Richard Simmons class in the am with photos. I have decided I will attend one of his classes once a week, his energy gives me this natural high that lasts for days.  It has always been something I wanted to do and it was on my Fitness Bucket List.

That got me thinking. Fitness Bucket list, I have one but I have never written it down. These are the things I would like to do as I continue to progress with my fitness goals. Some of the items on my list I will not be able to do for a while, because it would require for me to be in tip top shape and have more strength than I have now.  Some of the things I can do now. Some would be just a one time experience, and others passions I will continue to do for years.

I have my workout plan in motion, so all of the workouts that I am currently doing are not on this list as I am already making them happen.  Working out with Mike, speed walking, Melissa Bender Fitness videos, Yoga and Richard Simmons classes are all things I am currently doing to get fit. This list is the dream list of things yet to experience.

So here is the list, a way to make my fitness transition a fun adventure. I have my work cut out for me but I am confident I can make it happen. I always say I am a bit of a dreamer, but what is life without dreams to look forward to?   What is on your Fitness Bucket List?
